Biography of Sheikh Abdul Rashid bin Muhammad Ismail Fatani
Name and Lineage
He is Sheikh Abdul Rashid bin Muhammad Ismail Fatani.

Family and Upbringing
Sheikh Abdul Rashid was the eighth and only son of the esteemed scholar, Sheikh Muhammad bin Ismail Fatani, from his second wife, Nye' Mas bint Dato' Serai Paduka, who hailed from the state of Terengganu, Malaysia. His mother's family was highly respected and held a prominent position in Terengganu. Her father offered his daughter's hand in marriage to Sheikh Muhammad bin Ismail, in accordance with the Sunnah, as an acknowledgment of the Sheikh's high religious and social standing in both Terengganu and Saudi Arabia.

Birth and Early Life
Sheikh Abdul Rashid was born in a village in the state of Terengganu, Kelantan, Malaysia, on November 26, 1912. He was raised in the care of his mother's family. Following Sheikh Muhammad bin Ismail's return to Mecca in 1911, his mother took on the responsibility of raising him in her father's home with a strong religious foundation. His grandfather ensured he received quality education by providing him with competent educators and teachers.

Social Life
Abdul Rashid married Nye' Syi' Mas from Terengganu. They had eight children who were raised under their care in Terengganu.

Education and Profession
He received his primary education at his village school. After completing his schooling, he entered self-employment in the field of trade (commerce), a profession he continued until his retirement.

Death and Children
Sheikh Abdul Rashid (may Allah have mercy on him) passed away due to an illness on November 30, 1975. He was buried in the Bangol Cemetery in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
He had eight children: Shamsiah, Zainab, Umm Hani, Abdul Rahim, Zaida, Kamariah, Aminah, and Suhaimi.
