Sheikh Hassan bin Muhammad Nour Fattani: A Legacy of Islamic Service

Sheikh Hassan bin Muhammad Nour bin Muhammad bin Ismail Fattani was born in the house of his father, the esteemed scholar Sheikh Muhammad Nour Fattani, in the Al-Qashashiyah district—specifically in the Al-Khirdfoushi alley, later known as Al-Fattani Alley—in the valley of Sayyidina Ibrahim in Makkah Al-Mukarramah in 1325 AH (approximately 1907 CE).

Education and Career
Sheikh Hassan received his foundational religious education from his father, the great scholar Sheikh Muhammad Nour bin Muhammad Ismail Fattani. He later enrolled in Al-Raqiyah School and, upon graduation, began working at the Saudi School in Al-Ma'abdah until he reached the statutory age of retirement.

Contributions to Islamic Literature and Hajj Service
Sheikh Hassan worked closely with his father, Sheikh Muhammad Nour Fattani, on the authorship, translation, and printing of Islamic books.

He was involved in the creation of the book Zad Al-Hajj (Provisions for the Pilgrim), which simplified and clarified the pillars, duties, conditions, and Sunnahs of the Hajj rituals.

He also translated this work, along with the book Al-Tuhfa Al-Mardiyyah, into the Malay language.

Furthermore, he was a partner in managing Al-Fattani Library in Al-Qashashiyah, where he sold religious books and maintained the collection using the latest organizational and cataloging methods. He also assisted his father in serving the "Guests of the Merciful" (Hujjaj or pilgrims).

After his father's death, Sheikh Hassan requested separation from his father's Sheikhdom and purchased one in his own name. His sons assisted him in the management of this new Sheikhdom.

Demise and Family
Sheikh Hassan bin Muhammad Nour Fattani passed away at the age of approximately eighty-five at Al-Batrouji Hospital in Jeddah on 8/8/1410 AH (corresponding to April 3, 1990 CE). He was buried in the Al-Ma'la Cemetery in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, the location of the grave of Lady Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her). We ask God to grant him, our parents, and all Muslims forgiveness.

He is survived by ten sons: Sheikh Abdullah, Farouq, Engineer Sami, Professor Rashad, Nabil, Issam, Dr. Samir, Osama, Ridha, and Bandar, and five distinguished daughters.
