Dr. Amin Yasin Fatani, the youngest son of Sheikh Yasin Muhammad Nour Fatani, was born in Mecca (Makkah al-Mukarramah) in 1376 AH (Hijri calendar) on Mount Qubays. He completed his intermediate and secondary education in Mecca, graduating from Al-Aziziyah High School. He initially enrolled in the College of Medicine at King Abdulaziz University. However, due to his father's circumstances, he transferred to Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) in Mecca, joining the College of Social Sciences in the English Literature department.

In 1405 AH, he was delegated by UQU to pursue his Master's and Doctoral studies abroad. He earned his Master's degree from Lancaster University and his PhD in Applied Linguistics from Exeter University in the United Kingdom.

Dr. Fatani held several prominent administrative positions, including Director of the Ministry of Hajj branch in Mecca, Vice Dean of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj Research, and Dean of the Deanship of Faculty Affairs. He also served as the Supervisor of the Translation Unit at the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education, and was a faculty member in the English Department, College of Social Sciences. He chaired numerous academic and governmental committees and was known for his social and family engagement.

He passed away at the Takhasosi Hospital in Riyadh on March 7, 2019, due to a chronic illness. He was buried in Mecca at the Al-Ma'la Cemetery.
